Global Franchise Forum

Connecting and growing internationally: Koelewijn & Partners and Franchise+ at the Global Franchise Forum in Lisbon!

An inspiring experience full of insights and international growth opportunities

Between the 21st and 23rd of May, 2025 the annual Global Franchise Forum took place in the sunny Lisbon. This event is organized annually by Franchise Pool International (FPI), a global network of franchise consultants active in more than twenty countries. The network brings together franchisors, franchise brokers, and consultants to support each other in international growth. Representing the Netherlands were Marjolein Boshuizen from Koelewijn & Partners and Paul Wennink from sister company Franchise+. They met colleagues from around the world who wanted to enhance and share their ambitions.

Learning and growing together

During the forum, there was ample space for knowledge sharing, strategic discussions, and building valuable relationships. Representatives from franchise formulas such as Ekmekci from the Netherlands, Bread Ahead, and Bagelstein exchanged insights about expansion, franchise models, and brand positioning. The atmosphere was open and inviting, which contributed to inspiring conversations and new ideas.

Franchise formulas had the opportunity to discuss their plans in personal conversations with consultants from various countries. Marjolein and Paul engaged in talks with promising concepts, particularly in the food sector but also in other industries. These meetings allowed them to zoom in on local opportunities and growth scenarios fitting each specific concept.

“The atmosphere was open and collegial. It is inspiring to see how franchise concepts are developed and strengthened globally through the sharing of knowledge,” said Marjolein Boshuizen.

A network that connects and supports

For Marjolein, it was special to personally experience the international network as a Dutch FPI member. The participants' involvement and the shared commitment to quality in franchising were strongly emphasized.

The warm welcome and openness of the members underscored the family feeling within FPI. You can sense that this network is built on trust and collaboration, not just on business interests.

New opportunities for Dutch franchisors

There are plenty of opportunities within this network for Dutch franchise formulas. The conversations not only provided new contacts but also concrete ideas for further growth. Consider adapting the formula for foreign markets, finding suitable master franchise partners, or maintaining quality across borders. Thanks to the input from international experts, opportunities arise that can be directly applied in practice.

Bridging franchise growth

With their active presence, Koelewijn & Partners and Franchise+ underscore their role as bridge builders within the franchise world. By continuing to commit to international collaboration and knowledge sharing, they help Dutch franchise formulas achieve their ambitions. Whether it's about further professionalization in their own country or expansion abroad, the support is always tailored.
